Some examples of our work in 2017:
The Victoria Palace Theatre – London: We have been instructed by out client Build 8 to re-decorate this stunning theatre. The original building (The Royal Standard) was demolished in 1910 and in its place was built, at a cost of ₤12,000, the current theatre, The Victoria Palace which opened in 1911. Works commenced in July 2017 and will last approximately six months, the work includes specialist painting including gold leaf. Alderley Park – Alderley Edge: Started in February 2016, we have been appointed to manage a 5 year programme of works at Alderley Park, Alderley Edge, Cheshire. This is a major construction and development project for both Bruntwood and The Broadley Group. The first small package is circa £11m.
The Glassworks – Leeds: Work commenced in March 2016. The Glassworks on Cardigan Lane is a new build offering one and two bedroom apartments totaling 150 en-suite bedrooms. Residents will have on site facilities including super-fast broadband and wi-fi, a private cinema, gym, games zone, pantry, terrace and study rooms. Value in excess of £10m and opened in September 2017.
Westgate – Oxford: We have now completed the fit out of 57 luxury apartments (83 bedrooms) including all M+E and plant rooms. The project duration was 47 weeks, the building is a new structure erected by Laing O’ Rourke as part of their Westgate Shopping Centre construction project. Our contract value was £5,000,000.
Broomgrove Road – Sheffield: 30 high specification fit out new build apartments over 3 floors in the heart of Sheffield. Traditional build finished in Ashlar stone and cladding. Contract duration 40 weeks, value £5,000,000, completed August 2017.
Zicon House – Leeds: Continuing our great working relationship with YPP Lettings we are delighted to have completed our 6th refurbishment for them. Work commenced during September 2016, we converted an existing office block in the centre of Leeds and added two additional storey’s. The accommodation comprises of 76 rooms for professional and student accommodation. The programme was completed in August 2017.
Groves Chapel – York: We are delighted to be involved in delivering this project and look forward to working with S Harrison and their team on the development. Groves Chapel is a significant building that has a prominent position, and we will be working hard to ensure that the building is renovated and restored to the very highest standards. The accommodation will comprise of a local convenience store and 16 apartments.The programme started in January 2017 and will be complete in February 2018.
York Road Library – Leeds: Work has commenced for our client Rushbond PLC to restore the York Road Baths and Library a Grade II listed building in Leeds. We will be adding a new contemporary extension, to provide a stunning new facility for The Gym Group. Due to complete March 2018. Cookridge Street – Leeds: This is a proposed Student Housing and Retail Development on the former Walkabout bar site, adjacent to the 02 Academy in Leeds City Centre. The scheme involves the demolition of the existing two storey nightclub and replacement with a part six, part eight storey new build development. The development will consist of 96 well sized self-contained student apartments designed to a high specification. Work started in February 2017 and is due for completion July 2018, Value £8.5m
